How to delete "Create SharePoint Folder" documents created from bulk Group Folder creation
When creating group SharePoint folders in bulk or creating a group folder and subfolder structure for a new client group using the Merge Document function in Xeppo, Formstack will push out a test document to create each folder. These test documents can be bulk deleted from SharePoint Online, File Explorer (PC) or Finder (Mac).
SharePoint Online
- In SharePoint Online click on the globe icon for My Sites.
- Select the site where your Client's documents are housed.
- Select Documents from the left menu.
- In the Search this library field type Create SharePoint folder (as shown below), then hit the enter key on your keyboard.
- You will be displayed with results from all subfolders in this document library. You can select all using the radio button in the header as shown.
- Select the delete function, and follow the prompts.
File Explorer (PC)
- Open your File Explorer, and select the SharePoint you are using from your OneDrice on the left menu.
If you don’t have SharePoint listed here, you can add it from SharePoint Online by opening your SharePoint, selecting Documents, and then selecting Add Shortcut to OneDrive from the top menu. Then select Sync. -
In the search bar in the top right, type create SharePoint folder and press enter. This will display all the files in SharePoint with that name.
- Select the check boxes next to the files you want to delete.
- To delete the documents:
If you are using Windows 10, right-click and select delete.
If you are using Windows 11, select the delete icon from the top menu. -
Repeat this step for all files. Files you have deleted will disappear from the list.
Finder (Mac)
- In Finder, select the SharePoint you are using from your OneDrive on the left menu
If you don’t have SharePoint listed here you can add it from SharePoint online by opening your SharePoint, selecting Documents, then Add Shortcut to OneDrive from the top menu. Then select Sync. -
In the search bar in the top right, type Create SharePoint folder and press enter. This will display all the files in SharePoint with that name.

Highlight all the files you want to delete. To do this, click once to highlight the first file, hold down the shift key, and click once on the last file in the sequence. If you want to change the name of non-sequential folders, hold the command key while you click once on each folder you want to rename.

Right-click the highlighted files, and select Move to Trash

Repeat this step for all files. Files you have deleted will disappear from the list.
