Managing Two-factor Authentication (2FA)

This article will detail a step-by-step guide on how to manage your 2FA with Xeppo, and troubleshooting hints and tips if your 2FA does not work.

Manage Your Account

    1. Click on your name on the top right hand side of Xeppo and then selecting My Account

  1. Click on Two-factor authentication

  2. Select appropriate option
    • Forget this browser - Will forget the browser if you have selected to Remember this browser for fourteen days
    • Reset recovery codes - This will regenerate recovery codes for your login. You may wish to do this if you haven't saved the initial recovery codes you were provided when setting up 2FA or if you have used all 10 recovery codes to log in to Xeppo. It is extremely important that you copy and save these recovery codes in a safe place, such as a password manager as these are just as critical as your password or 2FA. These codes are used to log in to Xeppo if you are unable to generate a verification code via your App.
    • Reset authenticator app - This will allow you to reset the authenticator app if you have changed phones or are using a new authentication app
    • Setup authenticator app - This is only to be used if you have not set up 2FA for your login

Authenticator App Troubleshooting

If the code from your Authenticator App is not working, a common cause is the time on your mobile device not being synchronised. How this is resolved will depend on whether you have an IOS or Android device.

IOS Device:

  1. Go to the phone Settings
  2. Select General
  3. Select Date & Time
  4. Select Set Automatically to True
  5. Close and reopen your Google Authenticator/Microsoft Authenticator App.

Android Device

  1. Go to the main menu of the Google/Microsoft Authenticator App
  2. Click the three dots on the top right hand side
  3. Click Settings
  4. Select Time correction for codes
  5. Click Sync now
  6. A message will display to confirm if the time has been synchronised or if it was already correct.
  7. If it was already correct, go back to the main page, click and hold the code shown on screen and click the delete icon and re install.
